Giving Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a tax-advantaged gift directly from your IRA to the BDBC through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). A QCD can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) while not increasing your taxable income.

To make a QCD donation:

• Contact your IRA administrator and request a direct distribution to the Birmingham Duplicate Bridge Club (BDBC).
• Ensure the payment is made payable to BDBC (not to you personally).
• Consult your tax advisor to confirm eligibility and benefits.
